The Quinteiro da Cruz winery was founded thirty years ago and has always come under the Designation of Origin Rías Baixas.
This family-run winery is located in magnificent surroundings distinguished by one of the largest collections of camellias in Europe.
It has almost three hectares of land dedicated entirely to the cultivation of the Albariño grape variety.
At present the winery produces three different wines: the classic Albariño Quinteiro da Cruz, Albariño Allier Quinteiro da Cruz (fermented in oak barrels) and, exceptionally, when the weather conditions at harvest are favourable, a sweet wine is made, Albariño Quinteiro da Cruz late harvest.
Occupying an old stone building, the winery has modern, sophisticated equipment and machinery that allows cold maceration of must and controlled low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
Only Albariño wine is produced in Pazo Quinteiro da Cruz. Our policy of using estate-grown grapes results in a limited production (only 20,000 bottles per year) which is given the level of care that great wines require.
Our wine labels have been illustrated by Galician painters: Miguel Piñeiro, Manolo Ruibal, Conde Corbal, Ramón Conde,… pairing art with wine.
The Quinteiro da Cruz vineyard covers almost three hectares of land dedicated exclusively to the cultivation of the Albariño grape variety. The surrounding woodland, orchards and camellia gardens give our wines their fruit and floral notes.
The winery, situated right next to the vineyard, is where the Albariño wine, sold under the “Quinteiro da Cruz” D.O. Rías Baixas label, is made. Our installations fulfil the technological requirements for the production of white Albariño wines.
